Description: This webinar will address the impact of board games, and how they are used in the therapeutic setting. Board games are an effective way of interacting with children. They can be used for assessment, interaction and interpretation of a child's feeling. Board games can also be used to help a child relax. Many more ways of understanding board games will be discussed.

  1. Participants will learn about the symbolism behind board games.
  2. Participants will hear examples of the use of board games.
  3. Participants will be able to apply this technique with other theoretical ideas.

with children. In order to help a child succeed, money cannot be used as an incentive. To teach fiscal
responsibility one needs to implement “an allowance because I love you” system.

  1. Participants will be able to understand the theory behind “allowance”.
  2. Participants will be able to learn techniques that children and parents can use in order tosucceed in learning financial responsibilities.
  3. Participants will be able to apply the theory and the technique to their clients.
  4. Participants will see how this is “played” out in the play therapy room.
