Within the past few years the number of Jewish professionals entering Mental Health care has grown exponentially. Now more than ever, there is a greater need to to advocate for specific services, unite with other providers and develop representation among the larger group. For decades NASW has protected social workers and established rights and responsibilities. NASW is a powerful organization whose mission is to support us through the daily challenges and risks involved in the practice of social work.  It was NASW who set the standards and it is NASW who is striving to restore the dignity and respect of our profession by promoting fair compensation.

Support exists.  Let’s lean in and connect!  Why be silent when you can be part of a collective voice?

As a candidate of NASW's leadership committee, I plan on maximizing imperatives to treat the whole person with increased recognition of medical practice and rewarding our consuming work with improved enrichment and educational opportunities. I am committed to raising the bar for fair and equitable pay. In these unprecedented times, we need to give voice to Jewish concerns. This is a unique opportunity to influence positive change and effect policies that impact people among our own, on both national and local levels. As a representative of the Jewish community, I will underscore issues that would otherwise go unaddressed including; cultural sensitivity, tolerance of religious observance and clarify emerging gender concerns.

I hope to expand public mental health awareness and industry influence as well as identify the next generation of social workers.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ELECTION, DETERMINING THE DIRECTION OF NASW NYC'S CHAPTER FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS
