What if someone threatened you with a pocket knife while you were sitting at your desk?
What if your co-workers wrote nasty e-mails about you to your boss?
What if someone put up a facebook page and spread vicious rumors?
How would you react? Now imagine if you were 12 and these things were happening to you in school. What if you felt that school wasn't a safe place?
I decided to write about a very important issue.

Bullying.

Whether it's one incident or constant, the bullied child faces many social challenges. What can Parents do to help their children when being bullied? How can we help our children succeed?

Attend Madreigos' evening of awareness to gain insight about the uniquqe challenges kids face. Dr. David Pelkowitz and Dr. Benjie Stern have extensive experience and can give you insight into a typical child's day. Walk away with a toolbox of skills that can help our children succeed in their environment and be resilient in the face of challenges.

As parents and professionals, we don't have to stand by and let our kids be bullied, or continue to bully another child. Kids need to know they're safe and that they can rely on us- the adults in their lives- to protect them and teach them how to cope. Evenings like these can help us do that. Attend the lecture and take a stand- against bullying.
Because every kid deserves a bully free school.
