RITTM
(Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model)
MODULE 1
3 Recorded Sessions
The workshop introduces the Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model (RITTM). RITTM is a finely attuned, comprehensive, body-based method to heal and reconnect the mind and body. RITTM was born out of an integration of evidence-based trauma treatment models such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic therapies, Gestalt, Energy Psychology, and Mindfulness.
RITTM teaches therapists to integrate and blend the aforementioned modalities and offers resources and tools for them to provide individualized, client-centered, and holistic trauma treatment. RITTM potentially reduces the number of sessions required by half. The model teaches individuals how to be a trauma therapist by resourcing both themselves and their clients, processing trauma in a contained way, and emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic alliance by focusing on attachment wounds. RITTM prepares therapists to work with incidental and relational trauma as well as complex PTSD. The methodology follows three sequential phases beginning with stabilization through the therapeutic alliance, grounding, and resourcing. The subsequent phase allows for processing memories in a contained way by utilizing an integration of EMDR, Brainspotting, and a blend of body resources. The third phase encompasses integration of phase 1 and 2 focusing on the trauma that has been worked through and maintenance of what has been achieved. Reconnect Center has kept symptoms improvement data for the past three years and our results demonstrate a 90% improvement of trauma symptoms and 61% improvement of anxiety symptoms utilizing RITTM. Recently, we conducted three case studies, two of which were sexual assault female survivors of Caucasian and Hispanic decent, and one was a physical abuse survivor of African American descent. Between pre and post-test scores of the BDI-II, BAI, and PCL-C, scores were lower with an average improvement of 75% on the BDI, 35% on the BAI, and 58% on the PCL-C within just five, 90-minute sessions.
Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model (RITTM)is a mind-body connection based integrative approach that treats the whole person. RITTM teaches the therapist to use an integration of the following modalities: EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic therapies, Gestalt, Energy Psychology, and Mindfulness.
The RITTM philosophy states that trauma creates an internal disconnection. Trauma disconnects clients from their body, from their emotions, from their mind, from friends and family, from God or spirituality—ultimately from who they truly are. RITTM emphasizes stabilization before trauma processing, utilizing a three phased approach to trauma treatment: Stabilization Phase, Processing Phase, Integration Phase.
