10:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST
Keepin’ It Real: The Ethical Dimensions of being “JUST” in a society that is still divided
This interactive training will explore issues related to social justice, and how the ethical codes and principles align with treating clients equally and fair. We will address how clinicians and practitioners are responsible for the moral and ethical treatment of clients: individually, and communally. There will be discussions on dispelling myths, stereotypes, generalizations, and microaggressions made by society that continues to oppress and marginalize certain groups. This class will challenge clinicians and practitioners to understand how they play an important role in advocating for clients individually, locally, nationally, and globally, along with motivating them to be “change agents of justice.” This training will also review some ethical case scenarios related to social justice.

Class 2 - May 1st, 2025
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST
This interactive training will explore the history of slavery and segregation. We will look at the effects of slavery and segregation in a modern context, especially as it relates to generational and racial trauma. There will be discussions on colorism, microaggressions, and the four tenets of oppression perpetrated by a society that continues to devalue, degrade, and marginalize African Americans and other minorities. Clinicians will be challenged to become a “voice” for clients, who are still misjudged, mistreated, and misunderstood. We will explore ways to help clients heal from the “pain of the past.”
