Participants will learn via interactive online seminar thirteen kinds of cognitive distortions that affect therapists in their practice. Case material will be presented to illustrate the examples in a practical manner.
Abstract: Practitioners, just like their patients, can labor under arbitrary, distorted or maladaptive beliefs. In this training, we will discuss some of the common distortions that disable therapists from functioning at their best.

Practitioners will learn how to use CBT methodology on their own beliefs about themselves in their practice and to challenge the validity of beliefs that may be irrational and disabling as a practitioner.
Practitioners will learn about transference and countertransference as it plays out in regard to the therapist’s feelings of guilt, finances and self-disclosure.
Practitioners will learn to recognize areas of conflict and consonance between traditional Jewish thought and psychology.

Registrants who are unable to attend a Frum Therapist seminar or live workshop may ask for, and will receive, a
credit or refund (your choice). Refund requests will be processed within 3 business days. When an attendee
knows in advance that they are unable to attend we ask that they inform Frum Therapist ahead of time by emailing
[email protected] or by calling or texting (607) 249-4585 this allows us to free up the spot in the training in
the event that a training is at or near capacity.
