This webinar is a review and clarification of the professional scope of clinical practice for those who are bound by legal and ethical, as well as religious, standards. Some commonalities between the professional and the religion-culture frameworks for proper conduct will be discussed, as well as management of the possible contrasts between the expectations of the former and the latter. Some common dilemmas facing the religiously observant clinician will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
- Familiarize religious clinicians with the interface of professional and religious standards
- Acquaint religious clinicians with contrasting and conflicting expectations of those standards
- Introducing approaches for resolving and managing contrasting standards
Agenda:
*overview of legal and ethical principles relevant to clinical practice, overview of halachic and hashkafic (religious law and philosophy) relevant to clinical practice 30 minutes
*comparing and contrasting the frameworks and expectations 30 minutes
*common dilemmas for the law-abiding, ethically competent religious clinician, 30 minutes
*avenues for resolving dilemmas and conflicts, 30 minutes
