Jonathan Keigher

I am a clinical psychologist licensed to practice Psychology in the State of New York (License Number 018238). I received a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Yeshiva University in 1998 and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York in 2007. While studying at City University, I specialized in the assessment and treatment of severe psychopathology in adolescents and adults. Additionally, I studied extensively in the areas of trauma, interpersonal attachments and personality disorders. I completed my psychology internship at Manhattan Psychiatric Center (MPC) in New York City. While at MPC, I received additional training in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of individuals with severe mental illnesses, as well as training in sexual offender risk assessments and neuropsychological testing. Since obtaining my doctoral degree, I gained further expertise in forensic psychology and New York State's Mental Hygiene and Criminal Procedure Law, including forensic evaluations for competency, not guilty by reason of insanity (CPL 330.20), civil commitment of sexual offenders (Mental hygiene Law article 10) and treatment over objection. I have also taught and supervised advanced doctoral students in individual and group psychotherapy and assessment. Currently, I maintain an independent private practice in NYC where I provide assessments, consultations, and psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. I view therapy as a collaborative process between client and therapist. I help my clients progress toward their goals in a supportive and affirming environment. Just as each person's needs, experiences, and strengths are unique, I tailor my services to each individual and help him or her uncover past and present factors that may be impacting current functioning. I help my patients feel better and achieve positive change and growth.
